BE PROACTIVE WITH YOUR PROTECTION
The design and type of fire alarm system suitable for a building depends on the structure and use of the building and current legislation. New and altered buildings require approval with the local building control and existing buildings, with the exception of domestic premises, are to be compliant with The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and the required fire risk assessment.
The required fire risk assessment will establish the type of system that is suitable for the risk in accordance with the appropriate British Standard.
Our qualified and experienced design team are able to advise you on the types of fire alarm systems available to suit your specific fire risk in accordance with current legislative and British Standard requirements.
Over the last twenty years EFire has worked closely with leading UK based manufacturers to ensure that the fire detection and alarm systems we provide are amongst the most reliable in our industry.
The 2002 revision of British Standard 5839 Part 1 changed the period between service intervals on fire alarm systems to the following:
The period between visits to undertake inspection and service should be based upon a risk assessment but the maximum period between visits should not exceed six months.
Therefore, service intervals on fire alarm systems are determined by the outcome of the risk assessment carried out in compliance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Please refer to our page Fire Risk and Fire Safety Management which covers your responsibilities.
