How does alarm activation work?

The fire alarm activation sequence is a fast and calculated process to ensure prompt action if a fire occurs.

The first step of the process begins when a fire alarm in your premises detects either smoke or excess heat so activating the alarm. Once the alarm has triggered a monitoring unit within your fire system will send out a signal within seconds to the alarm receiving centre (ARC) who will then be able to decide whether or not the signal is genuine.

If one of the ARC operators discover it is a false alarm then nominated keyholders for the premises will be alerted; however, if it is a genuine alarm the ARC operator will quickly request emergency services, while also informing your designated team members.
